"My biggest fear: lacking imagination, because everything I've accomplished, I started by imagining it..."
Biography
Painting is for me much more than a simple artistic activity, it is a way to connect to the deepest part of myself, to leave aside reflection and to dive into a meditative, even spiritual, approach. It is by giving free rein to my emotions and my unconscious that I manage to evolve as an artist.
More than a passion, creating is what brings me into the light, far from the shadows of life. I have always been sensitive to aesthetics, light, and space. As a psychologist, I am confronted daily with the suffering of my patients. However, instead of soaking it up, I learned to protect myself by immersing myself in an ocean of calm. After listening to their confidences, I find peace in silence. Despite the ugliness of abuse, I find comfort in the beauty that surrounds me.
Silence is soothing for me, although sometimes evocative of solitude. My daily life leads me to explore the duality between light and darkness, essential elements in the life of every human being. Through abstract painting, I express this ambivalence. The light in the distance symbolizes hope, while the horizon, frequently present in my works, evokes space, infinity, the absence of limits. Light could not exist without the darkness that precedes it.
As Vincent Van Gogh said, “I dream my painting, then I paint my dream." I fall asleep with images and colors and wake up with my head full of ideas. My biggest difficulty is to capture these ideas before they are replaced by others. However, the creations mature for several days before reaching a result that is satisfactory to me and I can come back to them often.
Starting with a color palette and after some studies, I let myself be guided by my creative intuition, avoiding overthinking. I seek balance in the atmosphere I wish to convey.
In a world in perpetual motion and in search of meaning, I aspire to offer through my paintings moments of appeasement or reflection. I invite everyone to let themselves be carried away by the emotions that emanate from my paintings, for an introspective journey. I would be delighted if some were touched by my painting and found it a source of appeasement and reflection.
