A Natural and Organic Inspiration
Initiated in late 2022, Anaïs LF's series "The Path, the Waves" draws inspiration from natural palettes and organic pigments derived from powdered rocks. These earthy, desaturated, and subtle hues create a unique harmony between warm and cool colors, giving the works an authentic depth.
Intersecting Waves and Moving Waves
This series explores fluid and sensual movements, with intersecting forms. Anaïs LF superimposes layers, sometimes letting lines dry before painting over them, symbolizing intertwining and encounters. It is no longer just the colors that intersect, but the movement itself, marking an evolution in her art: she now focuses her attention on her own gesture rather than that of the painting.
A Connection Between Path and Waves
Entitled "The Path, the Waves," this series reflects Anaïs LF's artistic evolution. The "path" evokes her journey and the movement of each brushstroke. The "waves," with their abstract curves, reflect her connection to the sea and her need to reconnect with it. This series began at a time when the artist made frequent trips between Paris and Granville. After her permanent return to Granville, she intensified her work on this theme.
A Technical and Artistic Evolution
The artist explored new techniques, using large, flat brushes inherited from her family's connection to carpentry. The canvases were carefully prepared with a thick base of gesso or tinted acrylic paint, allowing for dynamic and textured traces. This approach highlights the balance between mastery and spontaneity.
