Luis Aleman

Artist Statement:

Luis Aleman was born in Miami, FL. His interest in art began at a very young age. He graduated from New World School of the Arts in 2020, where he has discovered different media and have been learning new ways to further advance artistically. Luis has received numerous accolades such as winning first place for the Florida State Fair Art Contest and being selected as one of the YoungArts winners for the year 2020. He has exhibited his work at the RAW Art Showcase in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and YoungArts Gallery in Miami, Florida. He now attends Florida State University where he is pursuing a Bachelor's in Fine Arts.

Artistic Influences:

In the bodies of work, I create; I use a very traditional style of approaching the figure, adopting not only the aesthetic of classical art but also the concept and meaning behind them. I paint locals, with common Miami apparel and the setting in which I place these figures play a huge role in my body of works. I clash two completely different art worlds and combine them as one element.
