Presentation

Passionate about motorsport from an early age, Cédric Marcadier was 12 years old when the Val de Vienne circuit emerged from the ground. He accompanies his father there at the weekend, who introduces him to speed, racing and the atmosphere of the paddocks. He is quickly offered his first film camera to immortalize the cars he meets there.

Later, he went to Paris where he pursued engineering studies but kept his passion intact. With friends he created an association to organize track days. It was by wanting to immortalize their exploits that he discovered digital photography. From then on, he will seek to render the atmosphere, the sensations, the adrenaline inherent in this sport.

Among his influences we can cite sports photographers such as Paul Henri Cahier or Vladimir Rys, but also artists such as Michael Kenna, whose minimalism, careful framing and mastery of black and white he admires, or even Sarah Moon and Paolo Roversi for their use of blur.

Gradually he detaches himself from the documentary approach and gives way to a more conceptual and artistic style, abandoning color in favor of black and white for its timeless side. However, its objective remains the same: to convey the essence of automotive passion.
