Presentation

Halfway between urban graphics and instinctive art, Sérapis attempts to go beyond the classical codes of painting. Originally from the Congo, the artist grew up in Germany, before settling in France in the 1990s.

With his bold, often primary colors and his signature continuous, strong strokes, Sérapis' style verges on surrealism, while taking on the codes of a free-flowing movement that offers relief to our imaginations. His line is somewhere between automatic writing and labyrinthine enigma.
