Presentation

Young, Monick Brès aspired to make an artistic career. Upset in her orientation, she opted for a social career. A few years ago, his priority roles, family and professional well established, now his first loves, painting and drawing are remembered. she. For years, she took classes at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Draguignan (83) and successfully tried out different techniques, watercolour, oil, etc... She painted life in all its forms: plants, animal and human, and it is the human being who now holds all his attention. Indeed, what could be + natural, after having helped him in his social difficulties, than to be interested in him through his physique, his plastic beauty. Monick Brès does it with a lot of modesty, gentleness, generosity, but also strength.

Painting nudes allows me to express freedom, that of the model freed from her clothes, her taboos, her fears and modesty, and mine, in the freedom of the gesture, of the stain, of the line, a freedom at both total and totally under control.

Recently, my work has taken a new direction, and now it consists of showing the nude differently.
The human being is an integral part of Nature, he is impregnated with it, depends on it, and can sometimes become a partial representation of it.
Thus, if we carefully observe the human body, once lying on the paper, or on the canvas, we cannot help but see natural elements, landscapes, shadows and lights that transport us to another universe. , in another natural space where color also plays a role.
The human being is there, clearly legible, and at the same time, he transports us to something else. It is this reading that interests me, this reading that everyone can do in their own way, according to their sensitivity, their imagination, their dreamlike and escape capacities.

My approach

What could be more beautiful than the human body, alive, supple, sensual and soft, as nature has made it, without shame or artifice?
After having painted life in other forms, vegetal and animal, I now devote all my passion and energy to drawing the naked bodies of living models who give me the joy of posing for me.
After a social career spent helping "others" in their difficulties, it seemed obvious to me to be interested in their bodies and their plastic beauty.
For more than 15 years, I have been struggling with lines, shapes, volumes, shadows and lights. Calame, cut reed, wash brush, . . nothing but a few lines, a few spots, to restore the shapes, the postures, but also the personality of the model.
