Rafaella Vlachou

Rafaella Vlachou is a Greek self -taught artist based in Athens. An art lover herself, she discovered painting as a hobby in 2019 which further elaborated during COVID-19. She was inspired by her mother, who is an artist as well and travelled together around the world to discover new art styles and techniques. 

Having graduated with a degree in Fashion, she strongly believes that art and fashion have an important connection, so she decided to enter the art world too. She mentions that many legendary fashion designers such as Elsa Schiaparelli, Christian Dior or Gianni Versace were creating garments based on several art prints and were inspired by art movements as well. 

Most of the times she paints something that she could actually imagine on a garment. Her work is characterised by dazzling colors and mixed textures, where in she dares to mix many colors together to create a painting. She uses acrylic colors to paint and sometimes spray. “ My paintings reflect the world I want to live in, a colourful world full of joy and happiness. Colours can never be boring."
