Natale Addamiano was born in Bitetto (Bari) in 1943.

After moving to Milan in 1968, he attended the Brera Fine Arts Academy. Few years later, he returned to the Academy with the role of Professor, he will remain, in fact, the holder of the chair of painting from 1972 to 2007.

His career as an artist starts in 1971, when he held his first solo show in Milan, he presented the “Night Diaries", works tied to the memory of his hometown, painted in dark shades of colors. But, starting in 1978, color became pivotal to his practice, culminating in his landscape paintings of the deep narrow valleys in south-east Italy: the series of “Gravine". His painting evolves over the years, and in the early 2000s, he paints a great cycle of “Cities" where the skies become preponderant and full of colors. A turning point comes in 2010, where he begins his most famous and appreciated cycle, the “Starry skies". In these paintings, everything but the sky disappear to make way for countless stars.
