Born in 1970, Astrid Steenbrink is a Dutch painter. She lives and works in Annecy-le-Vieux.
The artist studied design at the School of Graphic Arts Penninghen and interior architecture at the School Camondo in Paris. She started her career as an architect working for big firms in London, Paris and Lille.
After her discovery of painting, she decided to follow a formation which teached her the fundamentals of arts.
The artist gets inspired by her own life, her trips and the places she has visited in order to create a sensible composition about all connected to reality. Even today her creation process is still the same: She wonders on the streets looking for human movements and expressions as well as for objects on her way. Astrid Steenbrink draws the first lines with charcoal before adding colors, which allows her to bring her pieces to life.
