Do Delaunay

With a scientific background, I moved away from the engineering path to explore the world of artistic creation.

After having been a teacher in mathematics and physical sciences, journalist, photographer, carpenter, I went on a sabbatical trip to Quebec in 1983. This creative moment drew the promises of an artistic activity that made me enter painting and return to France. At the turn of the 90s, the study of traditional Chinese thought permeated my vision and gave rise to a very diverse work of varied materials, formats, supports, textures and colors. Thus were born between paintings, engravings, monumental sculptures, in situ installations and land art, original and poetic creations around everything related to the Duality of the Living and its corollary, the Origin. An original vision that draws lines between Yin/Yang and Big/Bang and injects into the contemporary imagination the original beauty of the roots of the living.

Between the One and the Two, I trace the enigma of a space, the breath of a void that engenders the Three... and the Ten Thousand Beings. As the Dao De Jing names them to express the expanse, eternity, and infinite diversity of life.

It is in this In-Between, between Contemporary and Primitive, East and West, Earth and Sky, in this intimate gap between Masculine and Feminine, between Egg and Chicken, Chance and Mutation, it is in this In-Between that I deploy the plastic poetry of my universe.
