Audrey Martin Napanangka, Aboriginal painter from Central Australia.
Biography
Audrey Martin Napanangka is a highly respected Warlpiri matriarch with significant rights to the Mina Mina site. She began painting in the mid-1980s, like other artists from her language group. She painted a wide range of themes, including those associated with traditional bush tucker. This theme also includes sacred and secret variations, while others are simply variations of finger-drawn patterns depicting gathering and hunting sites. She also regularly paints monochrome (white on black) Water Dreams, which are very fluid.
