Glad_is_murmuring

After initial studies in science, I started photographing walls in 1997, when I joined "Le Mirail faculty of Applied Arts" in Toulouse. The richness of surfaces, lines, shapes, reliefs, colors interacting together... and all these written words. Spontaneous compositions resulting from all this “jumped out at me"; traces of human action, of passing time. Walls and ruins always fascinate me. They are a paradox. They shout or whisper. They expose or protect. They can arouse fear or curiosity. They are imbued with life and feelings. They enable communication but can also break it. The wall is not only a mute component of architecture: The “wall material" has been a witness since the dawn of time. My pictorial practice began in the street but from the street to the canvas there is only one step! One practice nourishing the other, my paintings are inspired by walls, people and the passing of time. It is also a work on memory. I use a mixed technique, mixing acrylic paint, spray paint, inks... and sometimes integrate cyanotypes and gold leaf.
