Christophe Chartrel

Christophe Chartrel, a French painter, born in 1968, is self-taught although he studied for three years at the Valenciennes School of Fine Arts.

The visual arts world had excited him since childhood, but it was only at the age of 53 that he rediscovered drawing and painting as a means of balancing a professional life that had become burdensome.

The unique choice of the automotive industry imposed itself on him; it is a passion that he has always lived.

In a style close to photorealism, he likes to take the curves of Porsche, Ferrari, Aston Martin and other icons of the automobile in order to bring out their purity. By a tight framing, he works the details, the reflections, the light and leaves it to the trained eye to recognize the car model.

This work offers an infinite number of possibilities for aesthetic and emotional treatment. Testimony of an almost lost reality where V6, V8 or other Flat6 roar, it is indeed its deep nature that shines through in its works between the coldness of the sheet metal and voluptuous curves.
