Biography
French artist Jean Dreyfus-Stern was a painter and engraver born in Paris, who died in the same city in 1972. He lived in Montmartre (189 rue Ordener). Attracted by painting very soon, Jean Dreyfus-Stern became one of the pupils of Charles-François-Prosper Guérin (for painting) and Bernard Naudin (for engraving) before attending the Académie Colarossi and Maurice Denis and his workshops. In his landscapes (in particular Brittany and Honfleur landscapes), "colors are sincere as in the works of his friend Louis Neillot", he is also one of the rare artists of his time to have invested in the circus and sport subjects.
