Biography
Iryna KastsovaIryna Kastsova, a Belarusian artist born in 1983, is a graduate of the Belarusian Academy of Arts. She honed her skills in the creative workshops of academician M.A. Savitsky. From the age of 5, she began painting with watercolors, spending her summers in the village with her grandmother, which nurtured her love of art and nature.
Iryna Kastsova works in a variety of artistic styles, including realism, impressionism, abstract art, pop art and pointillism. She paints portraits, seascapes and abstractions. Her works are characterized by spontaneous creations, using mainly oil on canvas. She has exhibited nationally and in Denmark, with notable shows at the Palace of Arts and the Museum of Modern Fine Arts in Minsk.
A graduate of the monumental painting department, Kastsova has explored various artistic techniques, such as frescoes, mural painting on dry and wet plaster, gesso painting, glaze painting on ceramics, and stained glass. Although she has enjoyed these techniques, her main passion is landscape and portrait painting. Her style is a blend of impressionism, realism and expressionism, with vibrant, colorful works that capture the beauty of nature and marine scenes.
Iryna Kastsova's inspiration comes from the world around her: nature, people, elegant interiors, architecture and beautiful landscapes. Sometimes, she also draws inspiration from other artists. Her approach has evolved over the years; in the past, she followed a long preparatory process inspired by the art classics. Today, her creation is more spontaneous, with no preparatory process, and she prefers to paint quickly, often in one or two days, even for large formats.
Kastsova's works have been widely recognized and exhibited in Europe. Her abundant flowers and vibrant seascapes attract attention for their energy and emotion. Through her work, Kastsova continues to captivate audiences by skilfully blending different artistic influences to create unique and evocative works.
