Presentation
Born in 1977, Gully is a French artist who practices street art. He was introduced to graffiti when he was 15. In 2000, he became one of the gaffiti artists working on the RER C line.
From the street to a canvas, Gully develops an approach that comprises marked references of the history of art. "I borrow existing characters and scenes that I depict in my universe", says the artist. He does not copy, he quotes, interprets and integrates. Van Gogh, Seurat, Warhol, Basquiat, Calder, Remington, Hopper, are also part of his references. In his world, graffiti is always present, creating an unexpected encounter bewteen art and street art.
