Biographie
Dondi Schwartz est un artiste israélien né au Canada en 1961 qui vit et travaille dans le kibboutz Beeri, dans le Néguev en Israël. Schwartz a étudié l'art à l'École des Arts Avni de Tel-Aviv, à l'atelier de peinture et d'écriture créative du kibboutz et dans l'atelier Uta Patinkin. Il a aussi étudié la photographie à la Camera Obscura School of Arts, à la Beit-Svi Film School de Tel Aviv et à l'Université Concordia de Montréal. Les œuvres de l'artiste voyagent librement entre les œuvres décoratives de l'art nouveau et les pensées profondes des surréalistes, tout en incorporant parfois la simplicité des artistes naïfs. À travers ses peintures, nous faisons l'expérience de la liberté et de la nature de la vie rurale israélienne, où l'on rêve de liens avec l'environnement naturel. Schwartz a publié plusieurs romans en hébreu et a produit de nombreux films indépendants sous forme de documentaires et de longs métrages dramatiques qui ont participé à des festivals de cinéma et ont été projetés dans des cinémas israéliens et à la télévision israélienne.
