Apertura y coloridas figuraciones
Los pigmentos se inventaron hace unos 40.000 años, y desde entonces los artistas los han utilizado como elemento visual para crear obras de arte. Desde el uso del rojo en el antiguo Egipto hasta que el azul era más buscado que el oro en la Edad Media, el uso del color -¡y su valor! - han evolucionado a lo largo de los años. Así se ha desarrollado también la teoría del color. Fue el poeta alemán Jonathan Wolfgang Goethe quien desarrolló por primera vez una teoría del color en 1810. Según Goethe, los colores se componen de luces y sombras. Más tarde, los impresionistas prescindieron de los elementos visuales clásicos de la pintura para centrarse en la esencia del color, utilizando tonos que complementan y captan la luz tal y como la percibe el ojo humano, y no como se trata en la tradición de las bellas artes. A principios del siglo XX, Vassily Kandinsky creó una cuadrícula cromática que asociaba los colores con los sonidos y las emociones.
El uso y la fascinación por el color siguen inspirando el arte contemporáneo.
