Arte Procesal
El Process Art es un movimiento artístico que tuvo lugar en la década de 1960 en Europa y América. El principio subyacente del Process Art es que el proceso de creación de una obra de arte es el aspecto más importante de la misma, más que el objeto final en sí. Esto incluye la recogida y selección de materiales, y la planificación y construcción de la obra. Los artistas de este movimiento creían en este principio porque veían el arte como una forma pura de expresión humana, por lo que el proceso de producción de una obra de arte se consideraba el arte en sí mismo. Esta forma de pensar puede denominarse "antiforma". El artista Robert Morris es considerado un líder del Process Art debido a su exposición y ensayo de 1968 que definió el movimiento. Decía que los artistas del proceso se preocupaban por el cuerpo, la aleatoriedad y la improvisación. A menudo utilizaban materiales artísticos no tradicionales, como el látex y la cera, para inducir acciones y procesos como el corte, el ahorcamiento, el crecimiento, la congelación y la descomposición.
Algunos ejemplos de Process Art son el arte de la performance y el movimiento Dadá, ya que ambos privilegian el proceso artístico sobre un producto final estático. Las pinturas por goteo de Jackson Pollock también pueden considerarse pertenecientes al movimiento del Process Art, debido a su énfasis en la acción espontánea del artista al lanzar pintura sobre el lienzo. La transitoriedad y el cambio son temas comunes en el arte de proceso, como se ve en estos ejemplos.
