Artistas visuales aéreos
Como señaló Leonardo Da Vinci en su Tratado sobre la pintura, "Los colores se debilitan en proporción a su distancia de la persona que los mira". Esta afirmación de principios del siglo XVI fue respaldada posteriormente por las pruebas científicas de que las partículas de polvo y otros materiales microscópicos provocaban la dispersión de la luz al atravesarlos. Esta dispersión dependía entonces de la longitud de onda, siendo la luz azul la que más se dispersaba, lo que explica que las montañas en la distancia emitan un tono azulado. Al difundir la luz, los objetos, las personas y los lugares pueden ser representados por el artista de forma mucho más suave, sin detalles intensos y con un uso realista del color. La perspectiva aérea se beneficia de la atmósfera y, sin duda, es utilizada por los artistas para enfocar (o no enfocar en este caso) el sujeto dentro de su entorno más amplio. En las selecciones propias de Artsper, las obras de Slim Aarons y Julia Whitehead se centran en escenas multitudinarias de la vida cotidiana desde el cielo. Whitehead señala: "Estamos familiarizados con las escenas de calles concurridas y atestadas, pero no siempre las vemos desde una perspectiva diferente ni nos apartamos de la multitud para poder pararnos a observar. Las formas, los colores, las sombras y la dinámica de los cuerpos en movimiento, ya sean vistos individualmente o en grupo, son una fuente inagotable de inspiración para mí como artista."
