Debe ser muy liberador representar un mundo que puede no existir, o elevar un lado de la vida a menudo ignorado y olvidado. Soñar es evadirse de la realidad. Imagínese poder recrear esta evasión. En cierto modo, los artistas que han tomado sus visiones, sueños e incluso pesadillas y se han atrevido a plasmarlos en sus obras poseen la capacidad de retratar el escapismo. Desde las representaciones de Pablo Picasso de los que sueñan hasta Marc Chagall representando sus propios sueños, los sueños en el arte no son un concepto moderno. Esta exploración ha revelado tanto lo fantástico como lo oscuro, lo divino y lo profético, al tiempo que intenta recrear lo indescriptible. Lo que no se puede describir puede ser demasiado doloroso para representarlo, por eso la belleza en el escapismo fue transmitida por gente como Chagall en El sueño (1939) cuando vivía el comienzo de la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Pintar un color que sólo existe en tu mente, junto con el optimismo o la nostalgia (o incluso la duda), no es una hazaña. En la propia colección de obras de Artsper, Irina Bast representa la belleza con pintura, mientras que Minas Halaj utiliza sus retratos de figuras oníricas vestidas de flores para cuestionar el concepto de belleza como arma de doble filo. Ambas destacan que los sueños, sus personajes oníricos y la luz y el color que omiten son la quintaesencia de la mente bella de los artistas... para que luego le encontremos sentido.
