Presentation
Go Segawa is a Japanese visual artist born in 1970. He obtained a Fine Arts degree from Nihon University in Tokyo. Segawa then moved to France to study at Rennes School of Fine Arts, where he graduated in 2001. In 2004, Segawa obtained a diploma in "Creators of Artistic and Cultural Multimedia Products" at the University of Rennes. Finally, Segawa studied at University Paris 8 where he completed his PhD on aesthetics, science, and art technology. He is currently working and living in Paris.
Go Segawa's work combines painting and sculpture. By playing with geometrics and dimensions, the compositions evoke a virtual aesthetic generated via computer. The artist begins by drawing on plexiglass sheets with acrylic or graphite. He then superimposes the sheets, resulting in a three dimensional creation. This incredibly meticulous technique resembles Origami, the Japanese art of paper folding.
Light and impressive, Go Segawa's pieces attract the observer's interest. As a man torn between dimensions, Segawa's collection, "Drawing/Volume", perfectly exemplifies of his questioning about space perception.
Go Segawa regularly exhibits his work in France and Japan.
