Pierre-Noël Bernard, a graduate of the School of Fine Arts in Saint-Étienne, co-founded the Lieu-dit group, a multidisciplinary team that works on the urban landscape.
Within this team, architect/visual artists, pnb takes on the role of the draftsman who translates the spaces, the volume, the forms with the accuracy of his line.
He then left the team to devote himself to illustration and collaborated with numerous magazines and newspapers, Le Monde, Biba, Urbanisme, Magazine Littéraire, Lire, Dépêche Mode… From this period he kept the sense of making words visual, his style continuing to evolve towards more abstraction while densifying the power of matter, light and color.
A teacher at the Beaux-Arts in Besançon, he definitively freed himself from any commission and was able to give free rein to his poetic imagination.
By imposing only a few forms, this lover of the landscape – a fine observer – gives birth to scenes where he likes to install characters…
