Biografía
El fotógrafo autodidacta Antoine Rose nació en 1974 en Bélgica. Descubrió cómo funcionaba una cámara cuando tenía 8 años. Particularmente conocido por su serie "Up in the air", sus obras han integrado muchas colecciones privadas y las colecciones del Mad Museum, Tiffany & Co, Hermès en Luxemburgo y Silvercup Studio.

Apasionado de los viajes y el mar, a menudo le encargan marcas y eventos de kitesurf. Inspirado en la serie “Los grandes bañistas” de Cézanne y en las fotografías de Massimo Vitali, dispara las playas desde un helicóptero y luego imprime sus fotografías en formatos muy grandes (al menos 3 metros). Esta toma aérea difumina los detalles y ofrece una visión muy minimalista y estética de una escena que estamos acostumbrados a ver.
El fotógrafo juega con nuestras percepciones: la playa parece organizada, como si cada individuo, cada sombrilla, cada toalla se hubiera colocado a propósito. Al capturar a un hombre tan pequeño como una hormiga en sus fotografías, Antoine Rose crea conciencia sobre la insignificancia del ser humano en la abrumadora inmensidad del universo.
