“Splash” is an ambitious exhibition dedicated to the provocative and subversive work of Gérard Rancinan, a choice I made to share a unique vision of contemporary art. Rancinan, through his sharp and spectacular gaze, has been scrutinizing the upheavals of our society, the major issues of our time and the torments of his contemporaries for decades. His striking works stage the contrasts between light and shadow, revealing both the flaws and strengths of humanity. He explores the profound duality of Man, this ordinary being, full of dreams and contradictions, always in search of meaning. His photographs, powerful and intense, challenge and confront our gaze, questioning our values and aspirations. They bear witness to a society in perpetual mutation, and each image embodies a mirror reflecting our hopes, our anxieties and our shared humanity.
