Biography
Euan McLeod is an Australian painter and printmaker of New Zealand origin.
His painting, expressive and rich in material, favors the relationship between man and nature. We are speechless in front of the colossi he paints haloed with clouds that we can feel moving slowly.
If his works seem to evoke an immemorial past, one cannot help seeing in them an allegory of modern man capable - like the artist who has moved from one continent to another - of traveling vast distances by plane, like wearing boots from seven places. Finally, we will notice that clouds are a recurring theme for this artist born in New Zealand, “the land of the long white cloud”.
