

Biography
French artist of Polish origin, Robert Wogensky was born in 1919 in Paris and died in 2019.
He is the brother of the architect André Wogenscky.
He studied, and later taught, at the Beaux Arts in Nancy and Paris.
He developed an extraordinary art of tapestry and stayed with Jean Lurçat after the end of the Second World War.
His work in oil on canvas is rarer but just as important.
Robert Wogensky is part of this movement of multidisciplinary artists who worked in Paris from 1900 to 1960 that is L'École de Paris.
It focuses on the themes of Water, Fire and Living Natures. He made paintings full of power and relief exhibited in the 1960s by Pierre and Jacqueline Domec, director of the Pierre Domec gallery in Paris.
