Violeta Petrov is a Franco-Bulgarian artist, a dual culture exploited as wealth. Arriving in France at the age of 6 under the status of political refugee, she acquired a realistic vision of the mechanisms of integration and rejection linked to our societies at a very young age. To hide shortcomings and protect oneself from negative influences, art was the obvious path. Today she works in the exciting profession of applied arts teacher in a high school in the Paris region, a way of reaching out to young people to guide them towards the path to success.

Our environment is constantly changing, like her artistic practice, which can be described as “eclectic". Refusing to lock herself into a “style", her works aspire to and reflect the changes in our society. The creative process is free of expression, mixing hyper realism, expressionism and new figuration. The creative impulse is triggered by the imagination or by a reactionary observation.

The works that you will discover deal with the theme of “the box" called “Cubic Experimentation". Since confinement and the awareness of the narrowness of our homes, the challenges have been to test the creative limits offered by a box: can we remain creative while imposing strong constraints on ourselves? Boxes which denounce, which alert, boxes which oppress, boxes with humor, the avenues are numerous and once again artistic expression far exceeds all forms of constraints.
