Biography

Stanislas "FUZI" Baritaux (born 1975) Stanislas "FUZI" Baritaux is a French artist recognized for his major influence on the graffiti scene. In the late 1990s, he created and developed his concept of Ignorant Style, a raw and instinctive approach inspired by 1970s New York graffiti and art brut. He left his mark on trains and subways across Europe, rejecting traditional graffiti codes in favor of pure and spontaneous energy. In 2007, FUZI transposed this vision and style to tattooing, transforming each session into a performance in unexpected locations—tunnels, rooftops, train depots—and tattooing iconic figures such as Scarlett Johansson, Diplo, Justice, Kavinsky, and Steve Lacy. Although initially controversial, his style became a global movement. A multidisciplinary artist, FUZI explores painting, illustration, photography, and comics. He has published over 15 books, designed album covers for several musicians, and collaborated with brands such as Adidas, Timberland, and PSG as an illustrator, consultant, and art director. In 2020, he launched the first French podcast dedicated to graffiti, which has become a reference with over 90 episodes and a million listens. In 2022, his solo exhibition "Defaced" was presented at the Museum of Graffiti in Miami, and in 2023, he published his first novel, Les Princes du Dernier Wagon, a raw account of his journey into graffiti vandalism. Today, FUZI divides his time between Paris, his hometown, and Los Angeles, where he has lived for nearly ten years.
