Soklak Elgato

Soklak Elgato is a French artist born in Paris in 1977. Passionate about graffiti since an early age- he discovered this art at the age of eight in the metro- he started doing Tags on hte walls of his city in 1995, year when he became fascinated by aerosol paint.

The artist addresses diverse subjects, but which globably refer to the urban world and lettering. He likes playing with the colors and the transparencies to paint words or letters. His work is geometric,even cubic. Brightness plays a main a role in his creations, which are dynamic and committed.

A versatile artist, he has also tried bodypainting, photography and drawing. Soklak Elgato belongs to the new generation of urban artists, who seek to make graffitti evolve towards a more artistic style, and not just a protest.
