I make my art spontaneous, pictorial, free and expressive...
Biography
Inspired by vintage and street art in his early days (stencil work), Eric combines classic media with street art techniques such as spray paint, stencils, acrylic paint, and collages.
Recently, his art has evolved towards expressionism, art brut, naïve, and singular, allowing him unlimited artistic freedom. These new creations represent an evolution towards pictorial spontaneity, using color and line.
Éric Doisy is a contemporary French artist whose style lies somewhere between abstraction and free figuration, with a strong influence of art brut and expressionism. His work is often characterized by:
• Primitive and spontaneous forms, sometimes close to graffiti or children's art.
• A very free, almost automatic gesture, with an attraction to the instant and raw emotion. • Bright, contrasting colors, often applied in flat tints or bold strokes.
• A world populated by stylized figures and symbols, sometimes with isolated letters or words.
• A significant texture, often achieved through layering materials or direct, intuitive application.
