Biography
Louis André Mourgues was born in La Crau in the Var in 1886.
He came to live in Sainte-Maxime as a painter in letters but his passion for oil painting and watercolor.
He left us many paintings of Sainte-Maxime, Saint-Tropez and many seascapes.
On February 20, 1929, he received the Academic Palms of Fine Arts.
A few decades later one of his paintings was selected to decorate the liner France.
He died in Sainte-Maxime in 1962
