George Heidweiller (Beverwijk, 15 May 1963) is a Dutch artist. Heidweiller grew up largely outside the Netherlands in New York, Curaçao and Suriname before his family returned to the Netherlands. He began his studies at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague in 1981. After completing his studies, he settled in Amsterdam. In addition to his own work, he assisted Herman Brood with his project to paint tram line 2 on behalf of Fame. He designed his own merchandising for Marco Borsato and designed for the clothing brand ART 4 Use. He has innovated the way of representing urban atmospheres in a modern way. He combines photography and silkscreen printing with the paintbrush, working with acrylic on surfaces that start out figurative and end up with abstract ambiguities, with decidedly pop outlines. An artist with an eye to the future and to the more modern pleasures of European collecting.
