Biography
My work is deeply rooted in textured minimalism, focusing on the exploration of space, line, and form. Minimalism, to me, represents the idea that art should stand as its own reality, not merely a reflection or imitation of something else. This concept resonates with me on a personal level, offering a sense of freedom and clarity in a world full of noise and complexity. I've always been someone who gravitates toward simplicity and directness—black and white, to the point—and this outlook inevitably translates into my art. My creations reflect my desire to live simply, honestly, and with a sense of balance.
I've had the privilege of living in the seaside community of Del Mar, San Diego, for over 25 years. Originally from Lincoln, Nebraska, I've been painting for over 40 years. My artistic journey began unexpectedly during a trip to Santa Fe, where I encountered both the best and worst art I had ever seen. That experience sparked a deep inspiration within me, one that has never faded. I soon enrolled in classes at Mira Costa College and haven't looked back since.
hrough my work, I aim to offer others a glimpse into the quiet beauty and honest simplicity that inspires me every day.
