Guillaume Praizelin

It was from the 2000s, after serious health problems that I decided to paint more seriously, that is to say no longer to throw or destroy my creations. I took more time and dedicated more time to painting, and to other forms of expression (music, graphics ..). The aesthetics of my works are inspired by abstract art, brut art, let's say contemporary art in general, but also a host of other musical and pictorial movements. It is not a matter of conscious inspiration, but rather of a vast world, of a universe of creation ranging from Hieronymus Bosch to Brueghel for the atmosphere of mysticism, from Max Ernst to Anselm Kiefer for the spirit of matter, by Cy Twombly for the diversity of techniques and the rejection of mastery. My work is impulsive and highly intuitive. Despite a year spent in art school, I consider myself largely self-taught, experimenting with new techniques and new subjects, the goal being to express an emotion, an atmosphere, without requiring an explanation, nor a clear and precise representation. . I have hardly ever exhibited until then. This creative process, which was initially “therapeutic” in a certain way, today represents the main part of my activity. My work is no longer the reflection of a "crisis" but now a real artistic painter's approach, in the professional sense.
