Presentation

Martine Hawner is a French artist born in 1965 in the east of France. She discovers and practices painting very young and she is influenced by the work of her parents, also artists, and by the Impressionists.

She studies art in various artists studios in France and in Germany where she settles after her marriage. During this period she studies the classic techniques of the portrait in drawing, watercolor, acrylic and oil.
In 2009, she moves to Auvergne in the scenery of the extinct French volcanoes and attends the class of the school of painting of Murat.

Her meeting with the Iranian artist Behnam Behzad is going to change her way of seeing things and to paint: she develops then, through the wonderful environment which surrounds her, a painting of the felt, this process of creation which reveals the reflection of her internal world.

Martine Hawner needs to feel as closely as possible to the nature; that is why we find in her works, mostly painted with acrylic and ink, the soil and other natural materials present in her environment.
