Biography
Between matter and illusion, 2mé sculpts forms that oscillate between reality and dream.
Born in 1970 in Paris, 2mé is a multidisciplinary artist: illustrator, sculptor, inventor of forms and visual effects. A passionate jack-of-all-trades, he developed an intimate relationship with wood from an early age, a material he explores for its density, nobility, and expressive power.
Guided by tradition but animated by a contemporary spirit, 2mé seeks to reveal in each work the balance between perfection and spontaneity. His work is not a struggle against the material, but a dialogue: between softness and rigor, between sensual curves and precision of gesture.
Over time, his sculptures have become more vegetal, more enigmatic, oscillating between realism and illusion. The artist enjoys disturbing the gaze by creating trompe-l'oeils which, from a distance, seem to come to life, inviting the viewer to a personal reinterpretation of the form.
His universe also embraces color and lightness. In a decidedly pop vein, 2mé reinvents wood to give it a playful and gourmet metamorphosis: ice creams, popsicles, and sweet objects come to life in his hands, as if frozen in the moment of gentle melting.
