Biography

Be@rbrick (often stylized BE@RBRICK) is much more than just a collectible toy: it is an iconic contemporary work of art at the intersection of design, fashion, street art and pop culture. Designed and produced since 2001 by the Japanese company MediCom Toy Incorporated, this small bear with its minimalist design and instantly recognizable silhouette has become a true global cultural phenomenon. The name "Be@rbrick" results from the combination of the words "bear" and "brick", in reference to its aesthetic connection with the famous Kubrick figurines of the same company, while the "@" sign in its name constitutes a distinctive visual brand symbol.

Each Be@rbrick is a stylized anthropomorphic bear with a rounded belly and simplified geometric shapes, composed of nine modular parts: head, torso, hips, arms, hands, and legs. Thanks to its eight points of articulation, the figurine offers flexibility that reinforces its sculptural dimension.
