Biography
Born in Rome in 1957, Silvia Manazza lives and works in Pavia, Italy.
For many years, she devoted herself to sculpture. Later on, she came across an old disused school, hundreds of abandoned mattresses, Silvia Manazza told herself "My desire made me give them another life". Along with some irony, she recreates poetic objects. A true creator, she makes wax sculptures and recycles used materials.
Her personal exhibitions are present around the continents. She has participated in innumerable collective exhibitions and presented her work through major fairs like Art Fair Milan, Arte Fiera, Bologna… She received several awards : laureate of the « prix Artiste en résidence », Swatch Art Peace Hotel in Shanghai, Suzzara award…
