Jack Tworkov (1900-1982) was a prominent American abstract expressionist painter.

Born on August 15, 1900, in Biała, Poland, he immigrated to the United States in 1913. Tworkov studied at the National Academy of Design and later at the Art Students League of New York. He became associated with the New York School of abstract expressionists and was a founding member of the influential artists' collective, The Club.

Tworkov's abstract paintings often featured dynamic brushwork and gestural marks, reflecting his interest in conveying emotion and exploring the relationship between form and color. His work evolved over time, encompassing both geometric and more fluid compositions.

Tworkov's contributions to the art world were widely recognized, and he exhibited extensively throughout his career, including at the Museum of Modern Art and the Whitney Museum of American Art.
