For more than 25 years Carl Karni-Bain aka BAI has exhibited worldwide, especially in the San Francisco Bay Area, North Carolina, and in New York. As an artist participating in over 20 international art fairs since 2003, BAI has garnered an international audience. In 2013 Thelma Golden, Director of The Studio Museum of Harlem selected BAI as one of the top ten artists in Harlem. 

The same year, Bai was selected by the Rush Gallery as one of the top 50 artists working and living in Manhattan. Bai's work is in private and public collections, including the University of North Carolina, Charlotte, NC and The Harrison Museum of African American Culture, Roanoke, VA. The artist attended California College of Arts & Crafts from 1983-1985.
