conceptual

The conceptual art movement began during the early 20th century with the “ready made art" of artist Marcel Duchamp. He set a precedent by removing the focus from the artist's craft and placing it onto the concept of the art itself. This allowed the artist to do with his object however he pleased without the need to adhere to any kind of artistic method. "Art for art's sake." Artists like GiFoArs or even Dominique Rayou have taken inspiration from this in their own art. Artsper invites you to discover its selection of conceptual works.
