Biografia
Alex Hodge è sempre stata attratta dall'arte e da bambina ha incanalato regolarmente la sua creatività, frequentando lezioni di acquerello o facendo scrapbooking con sua madre. Ha frequentato l'Università della Georgia e ha conseguito la laurea in ceramica per apprendere i modi di modellare l'argilla. Mentre era alla UGA, Hodge ha tenuto la sua prima mostra personale, Unsung Muses, oltre alla sua mostra al BFA, Eyes That Bind. Si è laureata summa cum laude con altri riconoscimenti, come l'Outstanding Undergraduate Award e la borsa di studio Mary Rosenblatt. Dopo la laurea, ha trascorso l'estate come istruttrice di ceramica per l'URJ Camp Coleman, dove ha realizzato il suo potenziale come insegnante. Ha poi conseguito il MFA presso l'Università di Miami, dove ha ricevuto la MFA Summer Fellowship e il William Oberman Award. Si laureerà con lode al termine della mostra di tesi In Light of Her. Continua a insegnare come leader e istruttrice del campo Clay Camp presso la Ceramic League di Miami e come docente aggiunto presso l'Università di Miami. Se trova naturalmente il suo posto nell'insegnamento, è il lavoro in laboratorio il motore della sua esistenza.
