A serene gaze dominates the center of this composition. A woman poses confidently, dressed in an open kimono. She delicately holds a glass of champagne.
The palette favors warm, earthy tones, contrasting with a textured blue background. The material is worked with density. The grainy aspect of the canvas brings a tactile relief to the scene.
At her feet, a still life completes the painting. A platter of fresh fruit brings touches of yellow, red, and purple. The whole evokes an atmosphere of intimacy and contemplation.
The treatment of the skin and fabrics testifies to precise technical mastery. The light sculpts the forms with softness.

Presentation
Born in Moscow in 1953. He studied at the School of Fine Arts. He fled the Soviet Union in 1980. After living in Italy and Canada, he settled permanently in France in 1987.
Between 1995 and 2019, he exhibited regularly in art galleries in France, Italy and the Netherlands.
21 personal exhibitions.
Several distinctions, three Institute prizes including the 1995 Grand Prix du portrait.
