Description
A vivid exploration of human fragility. The painted composition blends Art brut energy with a dreamlike structure. A central face looms large. Its wide eyes stare with profound intensity. The gaze is both haunting and curious. Bold colors clash and merge across the canvas. Vibrant pinks meet deep blues and earthy tones.
The artist employs a rich layering of oil, acrylic, charcoal, and pastel. These materials create a tactile, raw surface. Below the gaze, a miniature red figure climbs a golden ladder. This small detail suggests a search for identity or escape. The surrounding environment dissolves into a fragmented landscape of geometric shapes.
The narrative evokes the feeling of a modern fairytale. It captures the tension between public facades and inner chaos. Simplified forms allow emotion to take center stage. The artwork balances imperfection with a refined sense of mystical wonder. This result is a psychological portrait of the human condition. It stands as a colorful meditation on existence and perception. The piece concludes with a dynamic arrangement of saturated hues and sharp outlines.
Presentation
Geert Lemmers, free and liberal artist, Fine Photo Art, Painting and New Media.
Geert Lemmers was born in the mysterious Land van Maas en Waal in the Netherlands. His grandmother's stories about witches and secret societies have formed him as an artist.
He studied photography and photographic arts and worked as a freelancer for years making reportages and portraits for magazines and fashion photographs. After the digital revolution he could realize his dream by making art, the way he saw it. In 2008 Geert Lemmers won the professional art-price in his region and that was the start of a successful artistic career.
After years of collaboration with well-known painters, his possibilities only grew.
Geert Lemmers is interested in our world and in its cultural and sexual diversity. He works mostly project-based and his work is about "the world of people" as a sort of general research.
"The world of people is about men and women behind often beautiful looking facades in the middle of the chaotic universe we live in. I research the raw site of our lives represented as fairytales in a wonderland as a enlargement of our life. Enlarged characters in chaos, beauty and imperfection. In every new project I vary on this basic-entity."
Geert's works, however, are characterized [now that he is getting older] by an increasing need for abstract and highly simplified design, allowing more room for emotion and the mystical.
Geert's works are honored many times and his works were to be seen in several international art - magazines.
