Description
A vibrant explosion of color defines this composition. The canvas breathes through a rhythmic arrangement of geometric shapes. Bold blocks of red and green clash with soft lavender and pale yellow. These elements overlap in a structured yet chaotic dance.
The artist blends oil and acrylic to create varying depths. Some areas appear dense and opaque. Others remain fluid and transparent. Vertical drips slice through the forms like rain on a window. This technique adds a layer of raw emotion to the structured design.
The painting explores the boundary between order and liberation. It reflects a transition toward a highly simplified aesthetic. Here, the mystical replaces the figurative. The viewer enters a conceptual space where colors represent internal states. Each hue serves as a portal to a private world.
The visual language balances tension and harmony. Sharp angles meet rounded edges. Darker tones anchor the top of the piece, while a light, airy foundation supports the lower section. The artwork culminates in a precise interplay of saturated pigments and neutral whites.
Presentation
Geert Lemmers, free and liberal artist, Fine Photo Art, Painting and New Media.
Geert Lemmers was born in the mysterious Land van Maas en Waal in the Netherlands. His grandmother's stories about witches and secret societies have formed him as an artist.
He studied photography and photographic arts and worked as a freelancer for years making reportages and portraits for magazines and fashion photographs. After the digital revolution he could realize his dream by making art, the way he saw it. In 2008 Geert Lemmers won the professional art-price in his region and that was the start of a successful artistic career.
After years of collaboration with well-known painters, his possibilities only grew.
Geert Lemmers is interested in our world and in its cultural and sexual diversity. He works mostly project-based and his work is about "the world of people" as a sort of general research.
"The world of people is about men and women behind often beautiful looking facades in the middle of the chaotic universe we live in. I research the raw site of our lives represented as fairytales in a wonderland as a enlargement of our life. Enlarged characters in chaos, beauty and imperfection. In every new project I vary on this basic-entity."
Geert's works, however, are characterized [now that he is getting older] by an increasing need for abstract and highly simplified design, allowing more room for emotion and the mystical.
Geert's works are honored many times and his works were to be seen in several international art - magazines.
