Valentine's Day in the Blue Room, 2025

Salome Rigvava

A solitary figure reclines in a serene, blue-toned interior. The composition balances psychological depth with a soft, rhythmic flow. A white facial mask obscures the features, suggesting a moment of stillness and self-care. This veil creates a boundary between the inner world and the outside gaze.
The artist employs oil paint to render skin with warmth and luminosity. A white t-shirt clings to the form, contrasted by the deep shadows of the room. In the foreground, scattered yellow petals and a solitary tulip in a pale vase introduce a delicate organic element. These botanical details hint at the fragility of time and the beauty of patience.
The figurative style transforms a mundane routine into a meditative study on solitude. Calmness permeates the scene through a controlled palette of cobalt, ochre, and ivory. Every brushstroke emphasizes a sense of introspection and emotional quietude. The narrative focuses on the unspoken aspects of the human experience. The scene remains frozen in a state of tranquil anticipation, anchored by the detailed rendering of the floral arrangement.
