Description
Painted in 1958, Composition by Louttre.B unfolds as a dense mosaic of interlocking shapes. Golden yellow, ochre and soft pink illuminate a field of slate blue, grey and olive green, while black accents give the composition structure and depth. Curved, occasionally vessel-like forms emerge within the fragmented arrangement, suggesting objects without fixing their identity.
The painting’s rhythm comes from the interplay of small coloured planes and larger dark masses. Its richly worked surface creates an intimate, shifting space in which light and colour guide the eye between abstraction and hints of the familiar world.
