Description
Presented within the block "Transformation of Matter" as part of the solo exhibition "The Light of Transfiguration" (Vienna 2026), "Alchemy of Decay" (2026) explores the philosophical phase of Albedo through the lens of entropy—the sacred disintegration of dense form to liberate the underlying Divine Light.
The composition is defined by a rigorous tactile polarity, utilizing a custom mixture of oil pigments and dry river sand to build a coarse, crumbling material surface. This heavily textured, rust-toned impasto represents the weight and decay of earthly matter, which is visually contested by structural incursions of pure Cobalt Green patina. Operating as a visual metaphor for latent spiritual transformation, the oxidized turquoise fragments emerge from the dark, underlayered depths of the canvas. By contrasting the fractured, mineral peaks of the foreground with the atmospheric density of the borders, the composition establishes a precise state of tectonic equilibrium, converting the process of physical destruction into a sublime spiritual resonance.
Presentation
Elena Lukina is an artist and founder of the first Independent Virtual Pavilion of Silence (Venice Biennale 2026). Concept: Dusty Turquoise & 432 Hz. Globally recognized for her metaphysical approach to contemporary landscape, her work explores the liminal spaces between nature, silence, and emotional calibration.
Lukina's practice translates acoustic vibrations and mathematical harmony into tactile, multi-layered visual rhythms. Utilizing a sophisticated palette knife technique, she develops a distinct sculptural impasto language. Her signature palette centers on "dusty turquoise"—a nuanced, melancholic tone capturing the fluid boundary where historical waters reflect an unpredictable sky, conveying a profound sense of absolute peace.
Her clear artistic signature and technical precision have earned significant international curatorial recognition. Notably, her "Works selected by Saatchi Art Chief Curator Rebecca Wilson for hospital projects/corporate collections (2025)." Her current landmark project, the conceptual Independent Pavilion "In Minor Keys: The Turquoise Silence", runs concurrent with the framework of the 61st Venice Biennale (2026).
Elena Lukina's artistic identity is officially cataloged in the global authority registries with verified data:
