Description
Black and white prevails here with geometric rigor. The frame is divided into zones of stark contrasts. A harsh light cuts through the space and reveals the texture of a mineral wall.
In this luminous interval, a female silhouette appears in profile. She seems suspended between deep shadow and clarity. The composition plays on strict diagonal lines that guide the eye toward the subject.
This shot captures a fleeting moment of urban life. The character's solitude integrates naturally into the architectural landscape. The work on the shadows creates a graphic and clean atmosphere.
This photograph dates from 2026. It is part of a series of limited editions exploring the contrasts of the street. The image is distinguished by precise grain and a visual balance based on chromatic duality.
Presentation
French photographer born in 1982, Fabien Olart discovered photography as a teenager through the photos of Lee Miller, Dorothea Lange and Sebastião Salgado.
After studying communications and image, he became a collaborator with the hemis.fr agency, specializing in tourism and travel. Regularly published in the press (Le Monde, Détours en France, Maxi, Marianne…) as well as in publishing (Gallimard, Hachette, Michelin Edition…), his productions are above all produced in Europe.
Member of the Street Photography France collective, it is in black and white that his sensitivity is most expressed. Attracted by urban life, his work is characterized by spontaneous, highly contrasted photography, playing between light and shadow. The human, often solitary, remains an important element of its production, while being integrated into urban or natural landscapes.
